3. Exposure – Liam: I’ve been stuck in this town for too long, but I don’t begrudge putting my photography on hold to take care of my sick mother. Now, she’s getting better and, with a bit of a push from her, I want to get out more. Maybe that’s why when I met the hot celebrity DJ at Club Nocturne, I was instantly drawn to him. Of course, it could have been the Virgin Special cocktail I’d been given…or maybe those baby-blue eyes and blond hair. Whatever, Devon is more than just some DJ, someone to have fun with up in the DJ booth. Instead, he gets my lifestyle, gets my passion, gets me. He was special from the beginning, and he’s quickly becoming so much more. But when Mom no longer needs me, I’ll go back to traveling…so there’s really no future for us.
Devon: I needed to get away from the life of monotony, the dullness, the day in day out sameness. Damnit, I’d lost my passion for music, for creation, and it was killing me. I thought going back to Greenford to DJ at Club Nocturne again might bring it back. However, I wasn’t ready for what and who the club had in store for me. Liam was meant to be a short-lived fling, like all the others—I’ve never trusted relationships—but those silver eyes got under my skin. I’m quickly finding he’s more than just a friend with benefits, and I don’t know what that means. When my sabbatical is over, our lives will be worlds apart…meaning there’s no future for us.

4. My Office. Now! – Rico: I know my life. I know what it’s like. I own Nocturne, one of the biggest clubs for miles around. I deal with the punks who work for me because even if they’re like younger siblings, they’re still punks. And I’m okay being the grumpy old man everyone thinks I am. I’m not that old but screw it, let them call me what they want.
That’s been my life for years, and it is what it is. I’m happy with it. I know what to expect. Until Ryan came along and threw everything I thought I knew about the world on its head. I even caught him cleaning my office…Twice! Why do I need a club manager in the first place? Why does he have to be exactly my type? And how come he doesn’t think I’m a grumpy asshole?
Ryan: Finding my life at a standstill, especially when I thought it was about to take off, is depressing, but I’m not going to let it drag me down that easily. Instead, I’d accepted what happened and decided to crash with my best friend and his boyfriend…who I’m pretty sure secretly hates me.
Life, however, wasn’t ready to simply let me coast on by while I figured out what to do. Instead, it threw me a new job and a grumpy butthole of a boss in the form of Rico. But despite what everyone says, I can see he’s so much more than just a grumpy old man…despite the mess in his office. He cares about everyone. He’s just my type and now I think I’m falling head over heels for him.
Sleeping with the boss rarely works out well. Throw in two completely opposite personalities and a twenty-year age gap, and Rico and Ryan’s growing relationship is doomed to failure…or is it?
