1. How the Beast Stole Christmas – Jack
The sooner I get out of Eden, Pennsylvania, the better. It’s like Christmas exploded here in the small town, way too merry for me. I’m a disfigured war vet who prefers to keep a low profile and my own company, and I’d like to keep it that way. My work contract has me in Eden for a month. My plan is to get out of here before Christmas, to leave this too-happy town, and never look back. What I hadn’t planned on was Maddison.
Maddison
Christmas is an awful time of year for me. I had to leave a good job and return to Eden to look after my father who hasn’t known a sober day since Mom’s death. I’ve landed a good job with some great people, but I know this is not the life I want. And just when I think that I’ll never look forward to Christmas, never enjoy the holidays again, I meet Jack. He’s surly and brooding and knows even less holiday cheer than me…but maybe I can fix that.
2. My Christmas Grinch – Liz
I’ve done something stupid. I slept with the man who rescued me during a raging snowstorm. It was a hot time on a cold night. The bed wasn’t even cold and I was out of it, heading off the inevitable heartbreak that comes from men like him. But that isn’t the worst part: somehow he’s now my fake boyfriend as I try to fight off the advances of my creepy boss
Chris
Despite my desire to live off the grid and underneath the radar, I’ve somehow been roped into pretending to be the boyfriend of a woman I’ve just rescued and bedded. But that’s all right, I’ll play along, if only to prove to Liz that everything she thinks about me is wrong. And I’m just the one to teach that boss of hers a lesson he’ll never forget.
3. Not So Saint Nick – Molly
My grandfather loves me and worries about me, but I can’t believe what he just did—told my family that I have a boyfriend. “We’ll figure it out,” does not stop me from panicking since I am decidedly, happily single. But he’s right, it would be so much easier to present a boyfriend, even a fake one, at our holiday gatherings, rather than listening to my mom harp on about why I am single. All the reasons. I didn’t think Gramps could shock me anymore until he persuades the neighbor, Nick, to play the part. And things get a lot more interesting since I’ve been crushing on Nick since he moved in.
Nick
I just want to live my nice quiet life in the country, just outside of Eden, PA. I don’t need any fuss around Christmas. I certainly don’t need to waste my time pretending to be some woman’s boyfriend. But the old man next store is ingeniously persuasive, and his granddaughter definitely makes me want to reconsider my lack of holiday spirit. I’ll do my part, sure, but after the presents are all unwrapped and the proverbial Christmas goose is cooked and gone, I’d like to get back to my nice, quiet life.
