Chords for Electronic Dance Music by Jeffrey Wood
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 0.9 MB
Overview: This is not a very long book. I don’t want to bore you to death with musical theory. I just want to quickly teach you the basics of chords so you can spice up your electronic tracks. Chords are very simple and it is essential to know how they work in order to write your own music, or to be able to figure out the chords of music you hear on the radio, in order to play it yourself. It’s an easy skill to learn and if you know what chords go together and why, it’s even easier to learn. This guide is organized in a very simple way. We start off with a section about scales. There are so many scales you can use, but I’m just going to boil it down to two for you. You just need to know two scales. 99% of all songs are written using these two scales of seven notes. Nothing hard. Next up are the chords. This is also no rocket science. You just need to know six chords. That’s it. Nothing more. You can construct an infinite amount of songs with just six chords. I will start with chords for the Major scale and then we move on to chords for the minor scale. The final chapter shows you other chords you might use in your chord progressions, to spice things up. This is not a guidebook to Jazz chords. We keep it fairly simple. Once you understand the concepts in this book, you can then move on to more complicated chords progressions.
