Overview: Robert E. Vardeman is the author of more than 100 fantasy and science fiction novels, as well as numerous westerns under various pen names (Jackson Lowry, Karl Lassiter). F&SF titles include the six-book Cenotaph Road series along with the Demon Crown trilogy. SF series include Weapons of Chaos and Biowarriors, with Masters of Space.
Fantasy work includes the novelization of Sony Playstation videogame God of War 1 (co-authored with Matthew Stover) and God of War 2. Fantasy series include all nine titles in the Swords of Raemllyn series co-authored with Geo W Proctor, the Jade Demons tetralogy, and the Accursed trilogy.
Fiction in a unique steampunk universe, Empires of Rust and Ruin, and the magazine Major Arcanium Gazette, show wide-ranging, rich details of a world that might (should!) have been.
Editorial work includes Career Guide to Your Job in Hell and the spectacular anthology, co-edited with Joan Spici Saberhagen, Golden Reflections. In addition to mentoring writing students at Arizona State University and working on the staff of 22Literary.com, he also copy edits four annual fantasy football magazines, including the award winning Fantasy Sports Pro Forecast and Football Diehards.
His various titles have garnered award nominations for best novel from the Western Fictioneers, the International Association of Media Tie-in Writers and the NM-AZ Book Awards.
Vardeman is a longtime resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, graduating from the University of New Mexico with a B.S. in physics and a M.S. in materials engineering. He worked for Sandia National Laboratories in the Solid State Physics Research Department before becoming a full time writer. When he can, he enjoys the high-tech hobby of geocaching.

1. Cenotaph Road
His path is set, but it could all end in darkness…
After a good night goes badly wrong, Dar-elLan-Martak finds himself on the run for a murder he didn’t commit.
With the viscious and much-hated grey soldiers fast on his toes, Lan must find a way to escape – and Cenotaph Road may just be the answer to that.
Legend has it that if you lie down in the crypt of a long-dead hero, when the moon is full and the clock strikes midnight, you will be transported … elsewhere.
But Lan soon discovers that one cannot escape ones problems so easily.
Hoping for a safe haven, he finds only a stronger desire for vengeance on the other side.
With an arachnid companion at his side and a treacherous journey ahead of him, Lan must stay hidden from the grey soliders that litter every world, all whilst seeking vengeance for the death of his love.
3. World of Mazes
Lan Martak and his giant (but timid) arachnid companion Krek are not the only beings traveling the road between worlds. The wizard Claybore wants to use it to find all the pieces of his disassembled body, so his evil can reign forever.
Meanwhile, the road leads to the lair of the master of illusion, Luister len-Larrotti, who has captured the beautiful Inyx by becoming the image of all she loves.
Only Lan can save her and stop Claybore. His own magic is growing… but will it grow fast enough?
