Overview: EM Roberts grew up in a small town in South Eastern Kentucky and lived on a farm for the first fifteen years of her life. She thought it a boring and mundane existence, vowing to become a doctor and live in the bright lights of a big city. Those plans were sidelined with her marriage and the subsequent births of her two children. She returned to school at the age of thirty-two feeling somewhat out of place among all the young college students. This, however, did not deter her from receiving a college degree. EM decided to major in Literature since that was her passion. After receiving her B.A. in English, she went on to earn her M.A. in 18th Century British Literature. EM now teaches at a community college in Cincinnati, OH. She has not, however, forgotten her heritage and incorporates it into much of her writing. She loves celebrating the Southern culture while also admitting that much like anywhere else, it does have its negatives.
EM loves all things supernatural, but her passion is for apocalyptic literature. This, she says, stems from her religious childhood when she would lay awake in bed at night fearing the "end of time." She likes to incorporate real life scenarios, actions, and language into her writing. She believes in writing for the ordinary reader but challenges them to find a deeper meaning in ordinary situations. This is evident in her Kindle zombie series: Catharsis. In her spare time, EM likes to zone out in her recliner and have Netflix marathons! She also likes to fish, hunt, and go camping and feels she would be an asset to any group in a zombie apocalypse! But then again, don’t most people?

1. A New World
A staggering 98% of the world’s population has been infected with an unknown virus causing them to suffer from an insatiable hunger. Those who are immune must do whatever it takes to survive. Among the survivors are: Ella Johnson: A 32 year old Conservation officer. Ella and her father have converted their Tennessee Farm into a safe haven for survivors. Ella can field dress a deer in ten minutes flat. Too bad that isn’t a trait most men are looking for. Roe Lewis: Having been a nurse for 25 years, Roe has seen racism and discrimination all over the United States. She travels the country in her tricked out Airstream trailer looking for a good time and a hot pair of heels. Parker Wallace: 43 year old Parker was elected President of the United States three years ago. Even before the outbreaks, Parker’s popularity was on the decline. Now, he has become the #1 man to blame. Izzy James: Former 20 year old socialite and Georgetown law student, Elizabeth James struggles under the expectations of her parents. After the outbreaks, Elizabeth has become Izzy, a gun toting badass, who has a weakness for old people. These characters are forced to make choices and take action in a way they could never have imagined. As Parker and Izzy make their way from the capitol, Ella and Roe face challenges of their own at the farm. Who is the biggest adversary in this new world: the infected or the immune?
2. Choosing Sides
How will the President, a Rock Star, and a beautiful country girl survive a zombie apocalypse? This second wave of the outbreak has hit six months later causing even more casualties and reminding the survivors that even they aren’t safe. The group learns a new military has been formed to eradicate these creatures and restart the country, but is this new military all that it claims to be? Or is it one man’s desire for power? Also, meet Jax, a former rock star whose addiction to drugs and alcohol may be the only way he can survive this new world. Some people will live and some will die, but who will it be?
3. The Journey
