Data Analytics for Business: AI-ML-PBI-SQL-R by Wolfgang Garn
Requirements: .PDF reader, 29.2 MB
Overview: We are drowning in data but are starved for knowledge. Data Analytics is the discipline of extracting actionable insights by structuring, processing, analysing and visualising data using methods and software tools. Hence, we gain knowledge by understanding the data. A roadmap to achieve this is encapsulated in the knowledge discovery in databases (KDD) process. Databases help us store data in a structured way. The structure query language (SQL) allows us to gain first insights about business opportunities. Visualising the data using business intelligence tools and Data Science languages deepens our understanding of the key performance indicators and business characteristics. This can be used to create relevant classification and prediction models; for instance, to provide customers with the appropriate products or predict the eruption time of geysers. Machine Learning algorithms help us in this endeavour. Moreover, we can create new classes using unsupervised learning methods, which can be used to define new market segments or group customers with similar characteristics. Finally, Artificial Intelligence (AI) allows us to reason under uncertainty and find optimal solutions for business challenges. The material was especially designed for Business Analytics degrees with a focus on Data Science and can also be used for Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence classes. Data Science languages such as R provide a platform to access the state-of-the-art methods for analysing business data.

Download Making Embedded Systems, 2nd Ed by Elecia White (.ePUB)

Making Embedded Systems: Design Patterns for Great Software, 2nd Edition by Elecia White
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 10 MB
Overview: Interested in developing embedded systems? Since they don’t tolerate inefficiency, these systems require a disciplined approach to programming. This easy-to-read guide helps you cultivate good development practices based on classic software design patterns and new patterns unique to embedded programming. You’ll learn how to build system architecture for processors, not for operating systems, and you’ll discover techniques for dealing with hardware difficulties, changing designs, and manufacturing requirements. Written by an expert who has created systems ranging from DNA scanners to children’s toys, this book is ideal for intermediate and experienced programmers, no matter what platform you use. This expanded second edition includes new chapters on IoT and networked sensors, motors and movement, debugging, data handling strategies, and more. Embedded software compilers often support only C, or C and C++. Most of the examples in this book are in C or C++. I expect that the language is less important than the concepts, so even if you aren’t familiar with the syntax, look at the code. This book won’t teach you any programming language (except for some assembly language), but good design principles transcend language.

Secure Coordination Control of Networked Robotic Systems: From a Control Theory Perspective by Xiaolei Li, Jiange Wang, Xiaoyuan Luo, Xinping Guan
Requirements: .ePUB, .PDF reader, 32.3 MB
Overview: As a typical cyber-physical system (CPS), networked robotic systems refer to a collection of robotic devices or agents that are interconnected through a network, allowing them to communicate, share information, and coordinate their actions. These systems combine robotics with networked communication technologies to enable robots to work together or with other devices, often remotely, to perform tasks and achieve objectives. As one of the core equipments and actuators, robotic technology has attracted much attention and has made great progress. However, a single robotic system is often unable to handle complex tasks due to limitations in sensors, microprocessors, actuators, and the ability to handle complex situations. With the development of distributed control and microprocessing technology, networked robotic systems have greatly expanded their perceptual, computational, and execution capabilities, with high efficiency, low cost, and strong functionality advantages. In this book, we conduct research on the secure coordination problem of networked robotic systems from a control theory perspective, given the limited communication bandwidth and the increasingly prominent network security threats. This book showcases several continuous-time and event-triggered secure control design and analysis methods for networked robotic systems under different types of cyberattacks.
