This Land Is Your Land: Woody Guthrie and the Journey of an American Folk Song by Robert Santelli
Requirements: PDF Reader, LIT reader, Winrar, 115 MB
Overview: "This Land Is Your Land" is the most iconic folk song in American history, and is the masterwork of one of America’s greatest artists, Woody Guthrie. Written in 1940 and first recorded in 1944, the song became an instant hit, and then a point of controversy, and finally a cross-generation anthem. It’s been co-opted and rewritten in many other countries. Praised for its heartfelt lyrics and accompanying pride and spirit, no folk song has made such a lasting impression on American culture—or stirred as much controversy.

Download An Evil Love (Fred West) by Geoffrey Wansell (.ePUB)

An Evil Love: The Life Of Frederick West by Geoffrey Wansell
Requirements: ePUB Reader, 443 kb
Overview: Now, for the first time, the full story of Frederick West’s extraordinary life and death can be told, the secrets of his appalling crimes revealed.

Drawing on more than 100 hours of taped confessions and on his own handwritten autobiography whilst in jail, an account of the life of Frederick West, Britain’s most notorious mass murderer, which also provides insight into the nature of pure evil.

In my opinion, this is the best account of the life and crimes of Fredrick West and the cruelty that went on in 25 Cromwell Street. Geoffrey Wansell paints a detailed and vivid picture of the life of Fred West, from his family and upbringing to the rape, torture and murder he devoted his life to. The book offers psychological analysis throughout the book, with constant reference and quotations from the various members of the West family.

I have read many books on the crimes of the Wests and I personally feel that this is the best account.
Running 385 pages, the content of the book is the most disturbing and graphic I have encountered, so therefore I would not recommend this book to the faint hearted amongst us. This book will shock, sicken, disturb and even anger you, but it is an important book, allowing the reader to try and understand the cruelty man is capable of.

The book also draws on West’s own 100 page ‘autobiography’ – I Was Loved By An Angel – written during the last weeks of his life. Geoffrey Wansell’s definitive biography of Frederick West gives unique insight into the mind of a serial killer, bringing not only an understanding of the motives behind his hideous crimes, but also an appreciation of the lessons society can learn from his behaviuor. The life of Frederick West is, inevitably, an examination of the nature of evil itself.

*I, myself purchased this book in paperback from the local Library;
~ it had been "removed" from the shelves/deleted, because of it’s EXTREMELY graphic nature !!

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

A haunting, unforgettable mother-daughter story for a new generation—the debut of a blazing new lyrical voice

Domenica Ruta grew up in a working-class, unforgiving town north of Boston, in a trash-filled house on a dead-end road surrounded by a river and a salt marsh. Her mother, Kathi, a notorious local figure, was a drug addict and sometimes dealer whose life swung between welfare and riches, and whose highbrow taste was at odds with her hardscrabble life. And yet she managed, despite the chaos she created, to instill in her daughter a love of stories. Kathi frequently kept Domenica home from school to watch such classics as the Godfather movies and everything by Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen, telling her, “This is more important. I promise. You’ll thank me later.” And despite the fact that there was not a book to be found in her household, Domenica developed a love of reading, which helped her believe that she could transcend this life of undying grudges, self-inflicted misfortune, and the crooked moral code that Kathi and her cohorts lived by.

With or Without You is the story of Domenica Ruta’s unconventional coming of age—a darkly hilarious chronicle of a misfit ’90s youth and the necessary and painful act of breaking away, and of overcoming her own addictions and demons in the process. In a brilliant stylistic feat, Ruta has written a powerful, inspiring, compulsively readable, and finally redemptive story about loving and leaving.

Praise for With or Without You

“Bracingly funny and poignant.”—The Boston Globe

“Stunning . . . comes across as a bleaker, funnier, R-rated version of The Glass Castle and marks the arrival of a blazing new voice in literature.”—Entertainment Weekly

“A singular new coming-of-age memoir traces one girl’s twisting path up from the mean streets (and parents) to the reflective life of a writer. . . . The burgeoning canon of literary memoir—spiked with a generous pour of 12-step-program confessional—begets another winner in Domenica Ruta’s searing With or Without You. . . . In spite of the glaring deficits in her life, Ruta was born ‘with a wolfish appetite for the printed word.’ . . . Luckily, her word addiction kept progressing until she had all the tools she needed to create this gloriously gutsy memory-work.”—Elle

“The intensity of the clear-eyed manner in which Ruta conveys her abiding frustration with the parents who failed their child so casually and monumentally is exceedingly powerful stuff.”—Booklist

“Valiant and heartbreaking.”—Bust

“Domenica Ruta is a real and excellent writer who has language by the throat. She writes with big beauty and drives her story with huge humanism, empathy, and humor.”—Gabrielle Hamilton, author of Blood, Bones & Butter

“Powerful . . . wicked funny . . . Ruta writes with unflinching honesty.”—Slate

Download My Word is My Bond by Sir Roger Moore (.MOBI)

My Word is My Bond by Sir Roger Moore
Requirements: Mobi, Mobi Readers, 1.97 MB, 2.13 MB
Overview: One of the most recognizable big-screen stars of the past half-century, Sir Roger Moore played the role of James Bond longer than any other actor. Beginning with the classic Live and Let Die, running through Moonraker and A View to a Kill, Moore brought his finely honed wit and wry charm to one of Hollywood’s most beloved and long-lasting characters. Still, James Bond was only one in a lifetime of roles stretching back to Hollywood’s studio era, and encompassing stardom in theatre and television on both sides of the Atlantic. From The Saint to Maverick, Warner Brothers to MGM, Hollywood to London to extreme locations the world over, Roger Moore’s story is one of the last of the classic Hollywood lives as yet untold. Until now. From the dying days of the studio system and the birth of television, to the quips of Noël Coward and David Niven, to the bedroom scenes and outtakes from the Bond movies, Moore has seen and heard it all. Nothing is left out—especially the naughty bits. The "special effects" by which James Bond unzipped a dress with a magnet; the spectacular risks in The Spy Who Loved Me’s opening scene; and Moore’s preparation for facing down villains (he would imagine they all have halitosis): the stories in My Word is My Bond are priceless. Throughout his career, Moore hobnobbed with the glamorous and powerful, counting Elizabeth Taylor, Jane Seymour, and Cary Grant among his contemporaries and friends. Included are stories of a foul-mouthed Milton Berle, a surly Richard Burton, and a kind-hearted Richard Kiel, infamous as Bond enemy Jaws .As much as it is Moore’s own exceptional story, My Word is My Bond is a treasure trove of Hollywood history.
