Donald King, a young business man, returned from a camping trip to his home in New York City, to run bluntly into convincing evidence that his beautiful young wife was faithless to him. He was terribly shocked, and suppressing his rage, he yielded to a determination to return to the Kear-sarge Mountains, in New Hampshire, where he had been camping.

First he made a forced call upon the man who had betrayed his faith, and they had a desperate fight, as the result of which King believed he had killed his wife’s lover; but the shot did not prove fatal, although King did not learn of this until many months later.

In New Hampshire he lives the life of a hermit. He is befriended by a farmer, Joe Dale, and the farmer’s beautiful daughter, Pansy.

The author makes the most of this situation. The villain of the story, Jules, is a half-breed, and as both men are in love with Pansy, there are many fights, not to mention the fighting King has at the lumber camp; in fact, there was in King’s daily life anything but dullness. King’s greatest battle comes when he defends Pansy from the half-breed.

Download 2 Seven Wonders Novels by Tracy Higley (.ePUB)

2 Seven Wonders Novels by Tracy Higley
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 1.3 MB
Overview: I’ve been writing adventure stories since the time I first picked up a pencil. I still have my first “real” novel–the story I began at the age of eight during a family trip to New York City. Through my childhood I wrote short stories, plays for my friends to perform (sometimes I had to bribe them), and even started a school newspaper (OK, I was the editor, journalist and photographer since no one took that bribe to join me). Then there were the “drama years” of junior high, when I filled a blank journal with romance and poetry. Sigh. In my adult years I finally got serious about publishing suspense fiction, and have since authored twelve novels in twelve years. When I’m not writing, life is full of other adventures–running a business, raising kids, and my favorite pastime: traveling the world. I started traveling to research my novels and fell in love with experiencing other cultures. It’s my greatest hope that you’ll feel like you’ve gotten to travel to the settings of my books, through the sights, sounds, smells, colors, and textures I try to bring back from my travels and weave into my stories.

Pyramid of Secrets (aka City of the Dead)
Secrets can be deadly. A killer prowls the sands of the unfinished Great Pyramid, and only one man can stop him. Egypt’s Grand Vizier, Hemi, orders his life with justice, truth, and the precision needed to engineer the pyramid he’s been tasked to build for his cousin and childhood companion, Pharaoh Khufu. But when Hemi’s overseer and closest friend is found murdered in Khufu’s slaughterhouse, distrust grows between them and chaos threatens the project. As the body count rises around Khufu’s Great Pyramid, Hemi must confront long-buried secrets… Secrets of that day, years ago, when seven of them trekked into the Delta marshes—and only six returned. Will Hemi be able to stop the Scourge of Anubis? Or will the truth destroy them all?

Garden of Madness
Will she risk herself—to save her kingdom? Seven years, she has waited. Since her treaty marriage at a young age, the Babylonian princess Tiamat has lived the opulent, and yet oppressive, life of the palace. And for seven years, her father, the mad king Nebuchadnezzar, has lived as a beast, hidden away to prowl his luxurious Hanging Gardens. But when Tia’s husband dies, the powerful mage Shadir plots to expose the family’s secret and set his own man on the throne. And a nobleman’s macabre death suggests a dark force is at work in the palace. Now Tia must enlist the help of a reluctant Jewish captive, her late husband’s brother, a man who denounces her notions of the gods, even as he challenges her heart. But does madness run in the family?
