Young Heroes in Love is an American comic book series published by DC Comics; it ran for 18 issues (including the #1,000,000 issue) from 1997 to 1998. It was created by Dan Raspler and Dev Madan, and explored the trope of the "garage band" as it applied to superheroes: the Young Heroes (as they called themselves) were not so much a team as a somewhat haphazard grouping of superhumans who had been persuaded to work together, but were not really ready to deal with it. With main characters focusing on Hard Drive, Off-Ramp, Monstergirl, Bonfire, Thunderhead, Frostbite, Junior and Zip-Kid. All possessing unique powers.

Garth Ennis reinvents the war comic for current sensibilities. Each volume contains four long stories, each illustrated by a different artist. Together they present World War II from various viewpoints. In the first volume:
1) An exhausted German tank crew in the war’s last days tries to be captured by Americans rather than vengeful Russians.
2) The "D-Day Dodgers" fighting in Italy are accused of cowardice for escaping the "real" war.
3) Jaded veterans sent to reconnoiter a remote chateau on the German front discover a cache of Nazi plunder.
4) The crewmen of a British escort ship seek redemption after they’re shunned as sole survivors of a brutal German attack.
The stories are inspired by real events; Ennis’ meticulous research guarantees verisimilitude, while his forceful characterization gives them remarkable power.

Aria

Overview:The story opens in a New York bookshop, specializing in the esoteric. The shopowner, a sardonic young woman named Kildare, over the course of a day deals with a woman who found a sword in her flat, two goths who want to drink absinthe, and a man looking for a bargain-basement love potion. After work, she goes back to her flat, where she is greeted by a talking mirror and a fishtank full of tiny merpeople.She goes to a club which caters to an unusual clientele, where it becomes apparent that the woman is a Fae noble. She meets a man named Pug, later revealed to be a dwarf, and the bartender Dion, who is none other than the Greek god Dionysus. On the way home, she is attacked by a group of shadowy creatures.Meanwhile, in an elven pub in Cottingly, a group of Fae are killed by further shadowy creatures.In New York, Pug has rescued Kildare, and they are both looking for some answers. We are also introduced to Childe Roland, a half-elf street artist.The death of the drinkers means that all of the Fae must return to their realm, temporarily for the funeral. We are introduced to ‘Mad Ginny’, the heroine’s cousin, a touch insane, and the ultimate cause of the Cottingly Fairies fiasco. She, too, is being stalked by the shadowy creatures.Eventually, the villain becomes apparent: a dark spiritual creature, who fought the Fae in ages past, and survived up to the present day as a shrub. Every hundred years or so, the spirit is able to directly touch the physical world, and influence it, causing such disasters as the Great Fire of London in 1666. On his last visit, he found Mad Ginny, raped her, and sired a son, through which he can act against the world at any time. The son is gathering the forces of the father.

Thanos v1

Overview: Thanos was apparently created by Jim Starlin during a psychology class, [1] and first appears in Iron Man vol. 1 #55. Under Starlin’s guidance, Thanos quickly became a master villain and the main threat to Marvel Earth in the 1970’s. The character appeared in several titles (such as the Avengers, Iron Man, and Captain Marvel), until apparently killed at the climax of Marvel Two-In-One Annual #2 (1977). The character is revived by Jim Starlin in Silver Surfer vol. 1, #34, which is followed by a 2-part limited series Thanos Quest (1990). This is followed by a series of company-wide crossovers featuring Thanos, titled the Infinity Gauntlet (1991); Infinity War (1992) and Infinity Crusade (1993) respectively. Thanos also made appearances as a supporting character in the ongoing series Infinity Watch (1992).In 2002, Starlin cast Thanos as the principal in yet another 6-part limited series, the Infinity Abyss. In 2003, this was followed by a final 6-part limited series, Marvel: The End.In 2003, Thanos debuted in an-going self-titled series written and drawn by Starlin. Starlin left the title after seven issues due to a dispute with Marvel, and Keith Giffen wrote the final five issues.

Overview: Super humans walk among us. Known only to a select few, these "Ultra-Sapiens" are a genetic super-race living in secret; walking weapons of mass destruction who must constantly be monitored and policed to ensure the safety of Planet Earth. When one of these super-humans goes rogue, upsetting the balance of world power, only one group can stand up to them in order to save us all: The Hunter-Killers.Hunter-Killer is a comic book series from Top Cow Productions, written by Mark Waid and penciled by Marc Silvestri for the first story arc. The main hero of the story is a young man named Ellis. Other main characters are Wolf and Samantha Argent, one of the hunter-killers the title refers to.During the Cold War, in response to the concern that a nuclear war would destroy the world, the United States government began a project to create living super-weapons. These beings were referred to as "Ultra Sapiens". However, there was a breakout, and most of the Ultra Sapiens went underground, hiding their gifts. Some went back to work for the government, tracking their rogue brethren and dealing with "situations" – they are the eponymous hunter-killers of the story.
