Overview: Catalina Island has often been linked to mysteries. Mysterious deaths, legends of a race of giant Indians, sightings of UFO’s (Unidentified Flying Objects) and USO’s (Unidentified Submerged Objects) have been reported for many years. The island is located approximately twenty-six miles from the mainland, across the San Pedro Channel. The channel is deep—very deep—and recently it was discovered it had been used since a time at the end of World War Two as a dumping ground for toxic substances… possibly even nuclear waste.
When Max Mathews and Doctors Bernie and Laurie Samuels arrive on the island to do research on the chemical dumping, they find the island is experiencing a problem… fishermen and their boats have gone missing. Soon after, tourists are being killed and eaten on a regular basis by an unknown creature with bright green eyes dubbed by the media as “The Catalina Creature.”
What is it? Where did it come from? Who knew it was out there? How do they get rid of it? All questions Max and his crew will have to find answers to.
