Overview: I was born in South Yorkshire in England, then I moved to Scotland more than twenty years ago. I retired early a few years ago due to ill health and spent my time reading, sewing, cooking and gardening. I decided that there ought to be more to retirement than that.
Reading has always played a large part in my life and the house is full of books. My youngest son challenged me to write a novel of my own and Initiation, book one in the Prometheus in Chains series was the result.
I enjoyed the process of telling the story. It combines my nascent interest in BDSM with the odd bit of autobiographical material in the best tradition of "write about what you know." I found that writing suddenly took over my life. Now I have a head full of Doms and subs and I have to spend a few hours a day writing or researching. Retirement has certainly delivered a lot more.
I still like to sit out in the garden listening to the birds singing, either engaged in some appliqu? project or thinking through some aspect of plot or character. I can go nowhere without a pencil and notebook and my poor, long-suffering husband has gotten used to having to sit in the car with me and wait until the notes are finished before we can go get the shopping.
I believe the world has enough sadness in it and my characters will always get their HEA, even if the road is rocky.
Genre: Erotic Historical Fantasy Romance
1. Dragon’s Mate: Braemuir is the chieftain of the Clan and a shape-shifter. He must find a mate and impregnate her before the Gathering of the Clan at the Summer Solstice if he is to stave off a challenge for the leadership. An unknown black dragon and his mate are trying to get rid of Braemuir in order to keep the Clan treasure for themselves. When Eilidh NicDhoughal mates with Braemuir, she becomes able to shape-shift, too, but being Braemuir’s mate puts a target on her back—and if one of a mated pair dies, the other will die, too. As Braemuir struggles to keep Eilidh safe from the black dragon’s attempts to dispose of them, a battle ensues amongst the dragons. Just when the identity of the black dragon is finally discovered, Braemuir gets another shock that will change his world forever.
2. Ness’s Bane: When Muireall, a dragon shape-shifter, is pursued by Ness, she tries to deny her attraction to him and refuses to agree to be his mate. But Ness won’t take no for an answer, and she finally gives in to his charms. When they return to Darroch Keep on Loch Ness, trouble awaits in the form of Macbethad, who wants to be Clan chieftain. In an attempt to dispose of Ness, Macbethad decides to kidnap Muireall but is foiled, and a battle in the loch ensues. Amidst the chaos, several of the Clan’s women have lost their babies. Ness, fearing for Muireall’s health, is not allowing her to become pregnant, so Muireall has to take drastic action.
3. Land of Ice and Snow: Lachlann of Braemuir is having no luck finding a mate. His mother tells him of the legend that a Braemuir will go to the Land of Ice and Snow to find his bride. Lachlann decides to try his luck. Sigourney Hillesland, banished because she won’t accept just any mate, is found by Lachlann, who recognises her as his mate. They make love in human-form, but before he can claim her officially, he’s challenged to go and find the brides’ golden torc. He gets the torc and brings back the old dragon who was guarding it. He is Hamish Munroe and has lost his mate, Mairi, not knowing that if she were dead he’d die too. After Lachlann and Sigourney’s wedding in Alesund they go to Scotland to search for Hamish’s mate. But when the dragon mating takes place, will it be all that Lachlann promised Sigourney it would be?
4. For Auld Lang Syne: When dragon shape-shifters Hamish and Mairi fell in love they thought that parental opposition was going to be the only difficulty they’d have to face. After their boat capsizes in a storm, Mairi lies injured and insensible. Hamish can find no trace of her mind and he flies north, unable to stay on Skye with all its bitter-sweet memories. She’s rescued but, finding no trace of Hamish, believes he’s drowned. Mairi cannot remain at home, pregnant and unwed, so she’s sent away to the mainland to live. "Mated for life" means so much that there can be no other love. When they are reunited, after so many years apart, can they make a life together? The passing years have taken their toll and the adjustment could well part them again. Do they love each other enough to overcome their difficulties For Auld Lang Syne?
