After fleeing the war, I sought asylum in a small colony on a backwater planet. Determined to regain my honor before facing my former crewmates, I got a job among humans. I was appointed to a bakery, or at least that’s what my coordinates told me. I know my kind is not well received in this part of the galaxy, but the owner, a small, fierce human woman, treats me like a slave. She yells at me and gives me gruesome tasks. But I cannot afford to lose this job. Yet, when I have the chance to leave with my honor intact, I cannot help but refuse. Inside that hard shell, she has a fire—a madness that draws me in, making me want to worship the ground she walks on. Now, I may have a bigger reason to stay and prove to her I am more than just an employee.

I don’t want that, so I craft a plan to make him quit: I give him the worst tasks and mess with his recipes, yet he always lands on his feet and wins the customers’ hearts.
