Overview: Merly is studying criminology in her final year at university – her passion since she was a little girl and lost a neighbor she loved to murder. While studying in the library, she sees and hears people that most students don’t. There is a girl with green eyes, and the older librarian who is so helpful. Merly doesn’t know who they are and others don’t seem to know either.
Her friend, Nora informs Merly that she has received a large package in their shared dorm room. When Merly opens it, the box contains beautifully bound books on criminology and the spirit world. Merly doesn’t believe in spirits and wants nothing to do with the books on necromancy. There is no indication of who sent the books to Merly. She decides to donate the books on necromancy to the library, but when the two girls return to their room, the criminology books are gone and the ones on necromancy left. What is happening?
On top of this, Nora disappears mysteriously, leaving Merly more isolated and vulnerable.
Mr. Stephenson, the university librarian, seems to know more than he is telling. Mr. Summers, a long-serving teacher, is also acting odd. Merly feels she is going crazy with all that is happening. She befriends Natalie who helps her discover some of the answers that she is looking for.
Merly meets the green-eyed girl alone in the library. After realizing that she is a spirit, Merly finds out that she is Mr. Summers’ sister, Rosemary. Rosemary asks Merly to bring her brother, Gregory, to the library. When Mr. Summers comes, he and his sister can’t seem to connect with each other. Rosemary asks Merly to allow her to switch bodies to convince her brother that she is there. Does Merly agree to this and what are the consequences of her decision?
