1. Absolution

But a bad situation gets worse when Marisol saves the life of a young man she’s been ordered to assassinate, a “Runner” who holds a secret to a vast conspiracy that threatens to topple the dictator of New Chicago and change their lives forever.
2. Designated Survivors
OUT OF THE ASHES AND INTO THE FIRE
Marisol and Elias barely escape from New Chicago, finding a way to slip under the city’s mighty wall. Taking shelter in the forbidden area around the city, they find themselves hunted by packs of nightmarish creatures that have begun to breed there. Wounded, exhausted, and out of options, they’re saved by a group of scavengers who claim to be from a settlement on the other side of the Great Lakes.
But just when things seem to be looking up for Marisol and Elias, a trap is sprung which forces them to confront their fears and work together with the scavengers to find a way to topple New Chicago’s brutal dictator.
3. Requiem
The final showdown has come, and this time nobody is holding back.
The dark forms slipped through a cavity in the deep woods and moved laterally up over an old logging road. The days of rain were over and the world was hushed. Silence welcomed the figures as they emerged from the brush like a pack of feral dogs. They angled across the woodlands and through the remnants of the day’s last light as it spangled down through the canopy. Wrapped in olive-colored uniforms, they hugged the shadows while making sure to avoid sudden movements. They used camouflage and focused movements to obscure any glint off the guns and honed cutting tools that dangled from their hands and hips. The raiding party consisted of a force of perhaps seventy men and a few women.
