Overview: Fearing a coup at their outpost town of Black Heart, Wyoming, the Blood Lords dispatch their number one Enforcer, the Cainenite Azrael, to quell the suspected uprising. Upon entering Black Heart, Azrael and his Familiar, Nightsong, are ambushed by a horde of indestructible hybrid zombies and nearly destroyed. They are saved by the Mage, Ra’Challa.
Upon further discussion, Azrael learns of the corrupt Priest and the vile Jedadiah Blackheart. They are in collusion with a Nosferatu; a member of an extinct and powerful species of sorcerous Vampires hunted to destruction by the Blood Council centuries ago.
Unable to stay the destructive zombies’ might, Azrael leaves Black Heart under the direction of the mysterious Lore Master, from whom he seeks the powers and secret knowledge to destroy the Nosferatu, the real threat to Black Heart. Ra’Challa investigates the town by day, and seeks the secrets of the Priest and Jedadiah Blackheart in order to get at the mystery underlying the Nosferatu’s deadly plans.
It’s a race against the clock as the Blood Moon reaches its apex on the horizon and the Nosferatu prepares his spectacular Endgame. Even with the help of their Familiars, Azrael and Ra’Challa dangerously navigate the treacherous paths laid out before them and each deadly step brings one, the other, or both to their hastening demise. With so much at stake, it seems as if only the intervention of the gods can save Black Heart before time runs out…
