Overview:After forty years of business writing, I decided to try something new and write the kind of novels I most enjoy reading, stories rich in fantasy, magic, and a little romance. I’ve always felt that reading is the best therapy in the world, allowing me to lose myself in the lives of characters I may grow to love, or in some cases despise. I can travel to distant cities in the pages of books, learning what life is like in other places and on other worlds. And I’m always hoping for a happy ending.
I decided to write Young Adult/Teen fiction because I love reading about the lives and challenges of that age group. A few years ago, I got tired of reading stories full of profanity, sex, and excessive violence. I wanted to give younger teens more innocent stories to get lost in, at the same time creating characters we can all relate to, or remember, as we look back at our teen years. Those early years are incredibly challenging as we grow up, but they should be fun too.

Elvenwood (#2):
Deep inside vast, beautiful Blackthorne Forest, there is a well-hidden village that has been there for over two hundred years. Kept secret from the human world, this 18th century village is home to a small community of Elves, a race that existed before recorded history.
Until recently, Cara had never met her father, unaware of her magical heritage and the Elven traits she possesses. But discovering her father’s identity has been a mixed blessing. Although her Elven Prince father loves her dearly, he has enemies and Cara has become a target.
After suffering a traumatic kidnapping during a raging storm, Cara vowed she would never be a victim again. Under her father’s watchful eye, Cara learns to use the defensive skills at which the Elves excel. Her handsome bodyguard and defense instructor helps the young girl accept the lethal skills that will make her a deadly opponent, as well as understand the difference between friendship and love.
The Dragon’s Song (#3)
The Blackthorne Forest story continues as Cara and her friends try to enjoy their senior year at Thornewood High. However, the psychopath responsible for earlier attempts on her life is now waging a reign of terror against her, her friends and their families. No one is safe.
Despite the danger, Cara, Amy, Kevin, Sean, and their Elven bodyguards are determined to make the most of their senior year while they dodge bullets and foil kidnap attempts. Their attackers are unaware that Cara has made an unexpected and magical new friend who guards Thornewood from the sky.
No one expected senior year to be this challenging! Struggling to maintain her balance surrounded by powerful magic and unseen enemies, Cara must now learn to use all her Elven gifts in defense of the people and the Elves she loves.
The Joining Tree (#4)
In this 4th and final book in the Blackthorne Forest series, unexpected heartbreak has sent 16-year-old Elf Halfling Cara into a deep depression.
Interfering with a drug dealer who’s trying to take over the peaceful small town of Thornewood is only a temporary distraction, but its effects are unfortunately far reaching.
As she tries to deal with her broken heart, Cara throws herself into her artwork. She gets through her senior year with a little help from her friends, especially Sean McKay, who hopes to win back the girl he’s always loved.
Her dream of attending a prestigious Art School may become a reality, but will success in the art world allow her to forget the one man who has her heart?
In the Elven world, once you give your heart, you can’t take it back!
