Crane’s target has many names: the false one on his passport, the ones used to seduce vulnerable heiresses, the ID number from his time in Federal prison for blackmail and extortion. But the one that matters is “Tamarind,” a code name that ties him to a whole network of other code names – names John Crane would very much like to connect to their true identities.
So Crane follows Tamarind to Buenos Aires in hopes the former gigolo will lead him to bigger game. But Crane soon learns Tamarind has many secrets, and that he hasn’t given up his old trade.
More important, Crane discovers he isn’t the only one watching Tamarind.
