Beyond The Fall Series (1-2) by Joshua Guess

Overview: My name is Joshua Guess. I used to have one of those impersonal third-person biographies here. I thought it would be a nice change of pace to just say hello and tell you a bit about myself.
Let’s see…I wrote Living With the Dead, which is probably how you found my author page. LWtD was a serialized tale set in the zombie apocalypse. It’s a little different from most zombie fiction in that it’s told in real time and in blog format. Which means that you got a literal day-by-day look into the lives of people working to survive and rebuild in a world destroyed by the dead.
Genre: Fiction > Sci-Fi/Fantasy
#1 – Relentless Sons
In this sequel series to The Fall, the stakes have grown smaller but more personal.
Mason has survived more than almost anyone alive, and in a world destroyed by the living dead that’s really saying something. Through wars, suicide missions, and the apocalypse itself, he has barely died at all. Really, just that one time and it almost doesn’t count.
A few months after helping secure a treaty for Haven, the community of survivors he spent years fighting and killing to protect, a threat to the newfound peace rises up from the overgrown roads and hidden byways between Haven and its new ally. A group of marauders unlike anything they’ve ever faced preys on travelers, including immigrants trying to start a new life in Mason’s adopted home.
When an enemy has to be taken out quietly, he’s the man you call.
With a small team of trusted friends, Mason braves the endless swarms of the living dead to fight his way toward the human predators stalking his people. And he knows just one way to deal with threats.
#2 – Dead Nation
Nearly six months have passed since Mason and his team encountered the Relentless Sons. Half a year of scouting and planning as Mason’s people left the safety of Haven behind and risked lands choked with the hungry dead to gather information.
The Sons are, so far as anyone can tell, something new in the apocalypse. Like marauders, they lack the limitations of morals. Like survivors, they are disciplined and work together. Like the military, they plan everything. Thousands strong, the Sons represent a threat so grave as to make the roving swarms of zombies not much more than an afterthought.
When the green light to attack is finally given, Mason and his strike force will have to wage a different kind of war. Braving the outside world at the end of winter and ducking away from the dead incessantly hunting any warm body they can find, Mason’s team will risk anything and everything to break the back of their new enemy and keep their community safe.
Even if they have to become monsters themselves in the process.
