Beyond the Capes: Book 2
Picking up directly from Book 1 convicts Jeremy, late of the Royal Navy, and educated Canadian Nathanael disembark the convict ship at Sydney. Things go from bad to worse for the two lovers and they soon find themselves dispatched to the hellish convict colony on Norfolk Island. Their mistreatment is alleviated as their true abilities are recognised and utilised, but not before Jeremy is gang raped by some guards, a rape which he gives in to and amusingly turns against his bewildered and sated tormentors. But there is worse ahead as a pattern of relief followed by further imprisonment ensues, starting with the reappearance of Captain Bligh as Governor to be of New South Wales; recognising Jeremy and Nathan he takes them back into his service. There follows much political intrigue, rebellion with Bligh under house arrest with our two lovers faring much worse. But give up they never do, intent on freedom and out of loyalty to Bligh they plot to escape and then when they find themselves in a position to do so work to help Bligh and his need for vindication.
