Beyond Innocence by Barrie Turner
Requirements: ePUB, MOBI, readers, 1.1 MB
Overview: Excellent, well conceived and powerful murder story…
The plot is compelling, complex, gripping and is innovative, and therefore exposed as totally believable for the readers.
It is commendable that the characters come alive for the reader from the instant that Chapter One starts. The impression of the various characters is that they could be recognized as real, even the main protagonist himself with bouts of occasional unrepressed anger.
This is a contemporary tale (of the 80s onwards) set against a well-described murder trial, the procedures for which have been also exceptionally well researched by the Author.
There is a solid background of a community affected by the sinister events as these unfold and the growing fear of further violence at a future date is skillfully hinted at.
When Irene Yarwood QC comes up against some of the signs of mental instability in her client she makes a note as her penetrating mind sounds warning bells with fear of deaths increasing in the future. It has the hallmark of a keen, intuitive mind and there is a hidden threat apparent and this is cleverly saved to the last page.
Throughout the book, although the reader is given these possibilities, It is impossible to guess the complex ending, although the author cleverly places several subtle hints within the text.
The characters of the main protagonists are extremely well balanced throughout. The events provide a most convincing insight into criminal proceedings in the courts of law. These form obviously the main impetus for the reader to be able to follow the trial and its final, eventful outcome with an intensity of concentration and understanding.
