Because You Came Back (#1): Who’s that handsome stud behind the wheel?
Fancy seeing such a sight in this small town.
It’s just another service call until I see that the broken-down car on the side of the road is a luxury BMW, which is out of place here in Baytown. And then I about faint when I see that the delicious-looking man inside it is Ashton Falls, my old high school classmate, and the object of my obsession ever since.
Back then, I wanted him bad, but never let on. I was the popular football jock, and he was the nerd who tutored me. I had a reputation to uphold, which included staying closeted. After graduation, Ashtown moved away and became a Silicon Valley tech billionaire. He’s back in Baytown for our ten-year high school reunion. Meanwhile, I stayed here to take care of my mom, and opened a mechanic’s shop. And I’m still in that damn closet, because there’s a stigma around these parts against gay men.
Our worlds are about as night and day as they could get. But soon they collide with a night of passion in which I discover that Ashton is as attracted to me as I was to him, and that he always has been. He can teach me more than just math now, and he’s as athletic in the bedroom as I was on the field. I want him to stay with me, and in me, for good. But will both of us be willing and able to change our lives enough for that to happen?
And, first things first, after hiding my true identity from fellow Baytown residents for my entire life, will I have the courage to show up at our high school reunion with Ashton on my arm?
Because You Came Along (#2): My life goal is simple, and nearly complete: Get the out of Baytown. Then Colin’s hot self has to come along and complicate everything. On my last day of work as a nurse at Baytown ER, a stranger runs in screaming at me, demanding that I treat his daughter for an allergic reaction. Colin may be over the top dramatic, but he’s also super handsome, filthy rich, and a loving, doting single father.
They’re in the middle of a road trip together from Los Angeles, and when Colin hears that’s where I’m heading, he invites me to come along with them on their way home. As we navigate the trip with a sometimes bratty, sometimes darling tween prone to health issues due to severe allergies and grief issues because of the death of her other parent, I start to realize I’m falling for this man and that I want to be a permanent part of this little family.
But am I ready to make such big changes? Giving Colin my body is easy: he’s quite skilled at blowing my mind. But giving him my heart out in the open is a lot more difficult. Can I completely come out for him and deal with everything that entails, including a grandfather bent on suing for custody and a society still biased against gay co-parents? Or will I decide that the safety of living a lie in small town Baytown outweighs the freedom of being with the love of my life, wherever our journey may take us?
Because You Loved Me (#3): Be Mine… for one night.
That should be my motto.
I’m a busy air marshal with no time for relationships.
Plus, I don’t do commitments, just hook ups.
Until one day I’m on a flight that runs into trouble.
The flight attendant is so damn hot when we work together to rescue passengers.
If we make it out alive, I think we should get together.
But it’s nothing too serious… right?
So why can’t I stop thinking about him?
Apparently love is in the air.
Because You Protected Me (#4): I’m dangerously attracted to the man I was hired to keep safe. As an ex-military private security guard, I know how to be in constantly close proximity with someone while remaining professional and reserved. But my training and experience falls apart once I meet my newest client, Gibson Hughes.
“Gib” isn’t what I was expecting after his uncle hired me to protect a rock star who is receiving threatening emails from a crazed fan, and I find myself loving that and everything else about him a lot more than I should. Sure, Gib is super handsome and has found wild success in his music. But even though he now lives in a mansion in a swanky Los Angeles enclave, he comes from small and quaint Baytown, where he still has loyal friends from high school. While other rock stars are partying like crazy, Gib is more of an introvert, choosing to stay home and immerse himself in writing music and reading books. While they’re swooping up a variety of women who throw themselves at their feet, Gib has always been more quietly interested in men.
But the stalker is escalating his attacks, and there’s talk that it might even be an inside job, for publicity’s sake. Gibs’ physical well-being is in danger and his reputation is on the line. I know I need to stay focused on my job, and that Gib needs to stay focused on his music, but all I can really seem to focus on are those ripped abs and beautiful blue-green eyes of his. I’m not supposed to hook up with my clients, and Gib hasn’t exactly come out as the gay front man of his rock band. If word were to get around that we’re together, Gib’s career- and safety- would be in jeopardy, not to mention my own. As we try to figure out who is trying to cause Gib harm and why, and as the stalker’s antics ramp up even more, my heart is racing for all the wrong reasons.
