Captain Lydia Zarro and her crew spend most of their days living on and operating the Demeter. But when they land on a backwater planet to make a cargo delivery, they find their knowledge and experience tested by the Demeter’s unusual science–and by an unexpected event.

It’s a pleasant, business-as-usual time for Captain Zarro and her crew; their personal lives are moving forward while they continue moving goods across the galaxy. Though the Demeter is getting up there in years, it’s still working quite well.
But when Captain Zarro has a chance encounter with an odd object, everything changes into NOT business-as-usual, and she and her crew are forced to abandon their schedule and adopt someone else’s.
3. Omnivelocity
Months have passed since Captain Lydia Zarro and her crew encountered new people in a new place, and now the Demeter crew must pick up an old friend at Makron Station. Thanks to a new enemy, things on the Demeter have had to change from being just a shipping business to being more ready for attacks.
But once Captain Zarro and her crew get to Makron Station, they realize that their lives on the Demeter must change yet again, and their future path in space is both not what they planned–and inevitable.
