Babylon 5: The Short Stories by J. Michael Straczynski, J. Gregory Keyes, Fiona Averyl
Requirements: ePUB and MOBI reader, 597 KB
Overview: Babylon 5 was one of the most imaginative and literate sf series ever created for tv. Straczynski’s 5-year story-arc is really one vast novel, and the series was blessed with both superb designs (those unforgettably scary shadow ships!), and actors that helped overcome the budgetry considerations. The short stories started appearing in Amazing Stories in 1999 and continued in the Official Babylon 5 Magazine.
Genre: Science Fiction

Hidden Agendas brings Captain Ivanova back to Babylon 5 sooner than anyone expected. She requires President Sheridan’s unique perspective to help her solve a problem she is having with her ship, the Titans. Ivanova’s return takes place very shortly after the beginning of Season Five. The two time references place it less than a month after Lochley takes command of Babylon 5 and six days after Byron arrives on the station.

The Shadow of His Thoughts tells the story of Londo, six days after his coronation as Emperor. With the Centauri people beginning the long process of picking up the pieces after the orbital bombardment, Londo must observe a tradition that, as Emperor he must journey by carriage to the river Tuwain and install a new prophetess supreme to replace the one killed during the bombings.

Genius Loci: Six weeks after departing Babylon 5 for their self-imposed exile, G’Kar and Lyta Alexander discover a Psi Corps mothership floating dead in hyperspace. Backtracking its course, the two find a planet that does not appear on any chart and on which nothing is as it appears.

Space, Time, and the Incurable Romantic: Nearly three hundred years after his death, Marcus Cole is taken out of stasis and is restored to life by the Anla’Shok. Finding that he no longer has a place in the world, he seeks out advanced genetic and computer technologies to re-create and reunite with his lost love, Susan Ivanova.

The Nautilus Coil by J. Gregory Keyes: Michael Garibaldi and Lyta Alexander discover a seventy year-old Psi Corps file locked in a secret archive under the ice of Ganymede that contains the location of a planet inside the former Vorlon Empire – the world on which the telepaths were created. In exchange for Alexander finally removing Alfred Bester’s neural block, Garibaldi agrees to mount an expedition to the planet, hoping to arrive there before the Psi Corps can discover the secret to creating enhanced telepaths of their own.

True Seeker by Fiona Avery: The story takes place in 2269 and follows Alisa Beldon, now a True seeker as she helps Jerrica Thomas – a young Narn girl who had been raised by Humans on Earth after being evacuated from her Homeworld during the last days of the Narn-Centauri War – to find her biological family. During the course of the search Alisa seeks the assistance of her old acquaintance, the now famous Na’Toth and discovers the girl has a surprising heritage and that others are willing to kill her to prevent the girl from claiming her birthright.
