Overview: The enigmatic sector of space occupied by the Thulians had been a place where only the mysterious Merrian Republic and the somewhat insane squirrel-like Tamian Confederation were known to travel. The other races including the Terran Alliance gave it a wide berth. But when Guildsman Leland Flint was forced to enter Thulian space to rescue the crew of the trader vessel Fortune’s Smile after it had been hijacked by rogue espers, nobody expected him to actually make peaceful first contact with the the most advanced civilization in the known galaxy.
No good deed goes unpunished and Leland soon found himself promoted to Guildmaster and assigned diplomatic duty to the Thulian’s own Psi-Guard at their embassy at the Earth capital in Fairbanks, Alaska. To make matters more difficult he’d been assigned a rather troubled apprentice with a mysterious background as a survivor from the failed colony on Alpha Centauri- an apprentice with a deadly secret of his own. Leland found himself in the unenviable position of trying to negotiate with galactic giants who brought grave news of a new threat to not only Earth but the entire Orion Arm of the Galaxy, while at the same time teaching Tempest the basics of human hygiene.
His Imperial Highness Storm Corwin Atlyn of the House of At, Grand Duke of Lantyss, Knight of the Order of Tyween, Commander in the Thulian Star Navy and Colonel of the Psi-Guard had his own difficulties, not the least of which was the mission to bring the news to the humans that a new deadly foe now threatened their very existence.
