Overview: On the Arctic continent of Nordhland, a female troll sneaks into the elven city and steals a mysterious book, after killing several guards. Palantír, the elven king, is determined to uphold peace with the trolls, but he soon realises that what may seem like a simple burglary is, in fact, the first step in an elaborate plot to provoke war. When his wife is kidnapped, he has no other choice but to cross No Man’s Land and ride into troll country.
In the south, Electra, a half-human, half-elven pirate and narcissistic assassin spends her days barking out orders and her nights drinking. When she is offered the job of assassinating the elven king, she jumps at the opportunity. But has she not underestimated her target? The elven king is strangely familiar to her; not that familiarity has ever before stopped her hand.
