Overview: Nick Gorkavyi is an astronomer from Virginia. He studies planetary rings and superbolides, the Moon and the Universe. He is a published author of two scientific and six popular science books. His scientific awards include the Robert H. Goddard Award (GSFC/NASA). His recent SciFi hexalogy "AstroNikki" is filled with both scientific facts and bold predictions (some of which have already come true). Asteroid 4654 Gor’kavyj, where AstroNikki spends her childhood, is named in his honor. “AstroNikki” received SF awards for "Best Vision of the Future", "Best Female Character" and was shortlisted for a national literary award.
