Astonishing! The Collected Short Fiction by Malcolm Jameson (Jerry’s 2020)
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 4.6mb
Overview: Malcolm Routh Jameson was born on December 21, 1891 in Waco, Texas to parents Joe Lee Jameson and Clarissa Amaryllis Routh Jameson-Ward.
Jameson began producing fiction only after throat cancer forced him to retire from his nonwriting life. His first story, “Eviction by Isotherm” was published in the August 1938 issue of Astounding Science-Fiction. He wrote prolifically, approximately seventy-seven stories appearing before his death; he published some work under pseudonyms including Colin Keith and Mary MacGregor. According to John W. Campbell Jr., Jameson “had much to do with the development of modern [c.1945] naval ordnance.”
Malcolm Jameson’s story “Doubled and Redoubled” may be the earliest work of fiction to feature a time loop.
Malcolm Jameson died on April 16, 1945 in Bronx, New York.
