Yet even the simplest plans get complicated when you are part of the first generation of magic using, shape-shifting lycanthropes. Those complications grow as Earth’s supernatural community come out of the shadows to forge lives of their own. They grow even more so as immigrants from other realities seek a more secure life here. Not to mention the complications brought by human immigrants fleeing the turmoil in a Europe where Berlin was destroyed by French nukes.

Arthur Reese had Plans!
He had plans to build a molecular computer to take full advantage of the current 64-bit architecture and then go farther. He had plans to build a safe nuclear power generator that didn’t produce radioactive waste and couldn’t turn cities into rubble. He had plans to provide the world with more mana which fueled the magic that the supernatural community needed to thrive. These plans would have taken care of his family and helped his friends.
Then, Art’s friend was abducted.
They say the best laid plans often go awry. They haven’t met Arthur Reese and his friends. Production bottlenecks? Piffle! Creating distribution networks? Snap! Predatory investment bankers out to steal companies? Bye, Felisha! An arrogant, sadistic enchanter wants to enslave then suck the magic out of his friend? Okay, he needs help to deal with that.
Lucky for Art he has good friends with a wide array of exceptional skills who want to help him, they truly are par excellence.
