Overview: Hi, my name is Steve Lumsden and I am a 52 year old debut author. I live in Durham, England and by day I work in Education. I have been an avid reader for most of my life and enjoy many different genres, but when it came to my own writing it was always going to be in the ‘hard boiled’, ‘noir crime’ area that I would head. I have written and self published the first in my Archer series, ‘A Dish Best Served Cold’ and really hope it’s hit the mark.

1. A Dish Best Served Cold
When a small time criminal hits it big he believes he can do what he wants, but actions have repercussions. Thirty years later his son is about to find that out! Robert Whitehead’s short term affair with a beautiful secretary ends badly, for her, when she tells him about her pregnancy. Thirty years passes before her story is told and that’s when Archer hatches a complex plan for revenge, unaware that there are other interested parties who have their own reasons for getting involved.
2. Playing Hide and Seek
A call for help, three shady characters and a stolen painting. Archer finds himself drawn into a game of hide and seek while helping the family of his old army buddy deal with a potentially dangerous situation. As is usual, he finds a complicated and intriguing method of discovering what is going on before arriving at what he hopes is a suitable solution. The question is can he see it through before anyone gets hurt? At the same time a Private Investigator is looking into the case of Penelope’s missing Aunty and finds himself returning to deal with a ghost from his past as well as a monster from the present. He uncovers more than he expected and now there are bigger fish to fry. Now the cage has been rattled, can he deal with the fallout?
