Apocalyptica series by Joshua Guess (Parts 1-4)
Requirements: ePUB or MOBI Reader, 1.44 Mb
Overview: My name is Joshua Guess. I used to have one of those impersonal third-person biographies here. I thought it would be a nice change of pace to just say hello and tell you a bit about myself. Let’s see…I wrote Living With the Dead, which is probably how you found my author page. LWtD was a serialized tale set in the zombie apocalypse. It’s a little different from most zombie fiction in that it’s told in real time and in blog format. Which means that you got a literal day-by-day look into the lives of people working to survive and rebuild in a world destroyed by the dead. In March of 2013 I went full-time as a novelist. Since then I have published three novels–Victim Zero, Dead Will Rise, and Next–and have many more planned for the near future.
Genre: Horror | Zombies
Apocalyptica is a serialized novel.
Ran (Part 1)
Ran Lawson is having a bad day. Her boyfriend turns out to be a vindictive jerk bent on making her life hell, and as icing on the cake the apocalypse happens while she’s trying to sort things out. Thanks to a past she’d rather forget, Ran is ready to handle what comes next. Armed with an endless supply of facts (and an armory full of guns, obviously), she finds herself allied with a stranger and aimed at a singular goal: survive and help others do the same.
Ran (Part II)
Ran Lawson isn’t having any of your crap, apocalypse. Just a day into the end of the world, she and Jem Kurtz aren’t worried about the larger problems facing the human race. Their priorities are clear: rescue friends, find supplies, and try not to get eaten alive by the slavering packs of zombies roaming the hills of southern Indiana. Along the way Ran discovers that whatever caused the dead to rise isn’t as clear cut as she initially believed, and those shades of gray are deadly. Ran (Part III)
Ran Lawson hasn’t had a very good time since the end of the world. She’s learning that there are more than just zombies and other survivors to worry about. There are terrifying people somewhere in between, but also more insidious problems. Such as overconfidence, illness, and a suspicious nature. When new arrivals show up, the question is no longer just how to survive, but how to trust.
Ran (Part IV)
In the fourth and final serialized installment of Apocalyptica, book one of Ran, our heroine is just about fed up. Between dealing with new arrivals looking for a safe place to live, figuring out how to stay one step ahead of the zombies who wander across the land, and coping with the cannibalistic Reavers who have all of the intelligence of human beings and none of the mercy, she’s at the end of her rope. Challenged by betrayal, the need to survive, and the difficulty getting even five minutes alone, Ran has to come face to face with the question: Can she handle it? Is she up to those challenges? Her life may depend on the answer.
