Overview: The novel is a planetary romance in which Esau Cairn, a former boxer seeking exile, is transported from Earth to the planet Almuric. Cairn finds human tribes in fortified towns and fights apelike humans, winged demons, and other monsters. By the end of the novel, he and his friends from the towns Khor and Koth capture Ugg – citadel of the winged Yaga demons.
Almuric is a science fiction novel by Robert E. Howard. It was originally serialized in three parts in the magazine Weird Tales beginning in May 1939. The novel was first published in book form in 1964 by Ace Books.
