Overview: British troopship HMT Rohna was sunk on November 26, 1943 by a German guided bomb. Over one thousand American soldiers died in the disaster which was kept secret for security reasons during the war and then largely forgotten. In this book Jackson brings the tragedy to light. In a preface to this edition he notes that a Rohna association was formed after his book first appeared and tells of the numerous letters he has received from survivors victims’ families and others who knew little about the event until Allied Secret was published.
