Overview: Alias is the creation of producer and writer J.J. Abrams. It ran for five seasons on ABC from September, 2001 to May, 2006.
A number of original novels based upon the series have been published, primarily for a teenage reading audience. Due to the intricate and story arc-based nature of the series, most novels published to date have been prequels to the series, some focusing on Sydney in her early missions for SD-6, and others focusing on Vaughn’s missions before meeting her.
Genre: Fiction > Children/Young Adult
#1 – Recruited by by Lynn Mason
Terror-filled eyes. Lungs choked with water. A pounding heartbeat.
For Sydney Bristow, it’s a typical day in her not-so-typical after-school job–she’s an agent for SD-6, a top-secret division of the CIA. Or so she thinks. This prequel is the first in a new series based on the smash ABC show Alias–it’s Sydney’s life before she discovers she’s working for the bad guys, juxtaposing normal college life against her fabulous exploits as a working spy.
#2 – A Secret Life by Laura Peyton Roberts
It’s Sydney Bristow’s first mission–in Paris.
Her first alias.
Her first real enemy.
Her first real crush.
And her first big mistake.
There are a lot of firsts for Sydney.
But no second chances.
#3 – Alias: Disappeared by Lynn Mason
A crumbling Gothic mansion on a craggy Scottish isle.
A secret meeting among the world’s most powerful underground organizations. And lots of bad blood.Sydney’s sent by SD-6 to pose as the heiress of a former ruling family of Romania now mixed up in the black market. Except instead of collecting intelligence, something goes very wrong. One by one people end up disappearing. Gone. Vanished. When someone is found, they’re dead. Will Sydney be the prime suspect . . . or the newest victim?
#4 – Sister Spy by Laura Peyton Roberts
Alpha Kappa Chi sorority sister Jen Williams has recently died of “natural causes.” Turns out that Jen was also a rookie agent for SD-6. AKX is spending spring break in Waikiki, and Jen was supposed to undertake an important mission for SD-6 there. But now Jen is dead, and it’s up to Sydney to infiltrate the sorority and carry out Jen’s Hawaiian mission . . . and find out what really happened to her sister spy.
#6 – Close Quarters: A Michael Vaughn Novel by Emma Harrison
Keeping tabs on Marianna, the daughter of Italy’s president, isn’t the type of assignment Michael Vaughn was expecting. He’s a newly minted CIA officer—not a baby-sitter.
Never mind that there’s a plot to assassinate Marianna’s father. Or that she’s incredibly beautiful. Or that ditching her security detail makes her laugh. Political assassins are no laughing matter. And neither are gorgeous girls undercover.
#7 – Father Figure by Laura Peyton Roberts
Although Wilson, Sydney’s handler at SD-6, seems sincere, a new assignment causes her to wonder if the man she’s been trusting with her life could be a double agent.
#8 – Alias: Free Fall by Christa Roberts
Sydney has finally made a friend she can open up to—a fellow agent from SD-2. Stephanie is sweet and caring and knows exactly how it feels to lie to the people you love. But friends don’t ask friends to help kill their boyfriends. Or do they? Suddenly nothing is what it seems. And everyone is in the same boat. Until someone gets pushed out.
