      Agent 327 is a playful Dutch action/comedy comic series by artist Martin Lodewijk from 1966 onward, with a hiatus between 1983 and 2000. Featuring the eponymous Agent 327 as a James Bond/Maxwell Smart-like Dutch secret agent who fights for "Righteousness and World Peace", his looks are based on the character of Peter Gunn. Often partnered with the junoesque Olga Lawina (an agent of the Swiss secret service), his adventures take him around Europe and the rest of the world as he battles numerous parodies of real and fictional villains.

      The song Denk toch altijd met liefd’ aan je moeder by Gerda en Herman Timmerhout is a common feature in the comic and can be used to hideously torture someone or provide a plot-turning emotional reaction.

        For forty years, writes and draws Louis Martin (born April 30, 1939) the adventures of secret agent Henry IJzerbroot, better known by his code name Agent 327. Every time the country would be likely to arrive, he sent out to ensure that the Dutch people can sleep peacefully again.

        In the ever famous comic magazine Pep Agent experienced his first adventure in response to the plethora of spy movies and TV shows that are mid-sixties. Series asGet Smartand of course the James Bond films. Yet it was not – as often assumed – where James Bond was based on Louis, but the American television series Peter Gunn (Directed by Blake Edwards). The series itself was never aired in the Netherlands, Louis read about it in the magazineLifeGunn and saw the perfect appearance of IJzerbroot.

        Initially, short stories by Louis still four pages (twenty in all), but in 1968 he ventured for the first time a long story, File Stemkwadrater, Which is also Pep appeared. Were the short stories mostly anecdotal in nature, this long story, he could fully enjoy in the plot and in a long series of jokes and references to the spy genre. The villain in the story as Dr. called. Maybe, after all there was a Dr. No and even a Dr.. Yes. From that moment Louis essentially a long story, which is found all over the world played out. The stories became increasingly satirical and were based less on the spy genre. In 1975 the comicPepremoved and were associated withSjorsinto the new magazineEppo. Frits van der Heide was the editor of this new periodical and Louis Martin was appointed art director. Together they put the tray on legs. Obviously moved along to the Agent 327 Eppo, But there were also many new series are launched. Louis played an important role and stood at the cradle of series like Steven Severijnand Storm. Especially the latter was a series of world renown, not least because of the incredible color painted drawings of the Englishman Don Lawrence. Louis would like to write the series himself, but his busy schedule he has in that time only half the story written. After a row of several writers, he finally part from the ten scenarios accounted for and the science-fiction comic in the Netherlands on a new plane.

        Meanwhile, he wrote and drew merrily on to Agent. He sent IJzerbroot to Easter Island, South America, but also to Amsterdam where he was the theft of the Night Watch – and the State Secrets which were pasted on the back! – Managed to resolve. Until 1983, then disappeared as Agent of the stage. Temporarily, as implored Louis, but it would take until 2000 before again Agent 327 was fully resuscitated.

        Since then Henry IJzerbroot regularly experience his adventures inReuters. Forty years since he has aged, it is certainly not to see, and he still stands his ground.

        The stories of Agent 327 have been published around the world, both in magazine and book form. Louis Martin was in his long career many a prize, including Stripschapprijs for Agent 327 and up to three Stripschapprijs medals for best album of the year. In 2005 his work hung at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and he is in the Guinness Book of Records as the creator of the comic book world’s smallest: File Minimium Bug, Published in 1999.
