Overview: Living in a small town in Vermont, 13-year-old Lily Anne has a lot of things on her mind. She’s upset that she had to move from Minnesota due to her dad’s new job, leaving all her friends and sports behind. She loves her family, but doesn’t feel as if her mom loves or listens to her since she just had another baby. Her current biggest concern was how to pass a not-so-simple math test before summer break. Lily Anne escapes her internal struggles by playing a role playing game (RPG) with her friends.
In the RPG, Lily controls a character named Natalie Elizabeth.
But little does Lily know that playing a small role-playing game in her bedroom would actually impact someone else’s every move.
Natalie is a human warrior in her early twenties and she’s on a journey to rescue her family that’s living in slavery to a tyrannical owner, but first she has to do whatever it takes to get enough money. She goes to another country to fight the beasts and gain money in the hopes her family is still alive when she returns. With her newly-acquired team of warriors, she prepares for years in brutal environments to face all manner of vicious beasts. Along her journey, she is unaware that her entire crew, including herself, are being controlled by the roll of the dice from a 13-year-old girl and her four friends.
