Overview: Darren Wearmouth’s first novel was the best-selling First Activation that he later sold to Amazon’s publishing imprint, 47North in a two-book deal. The Invasion Trilogy and
Sixth Cycle have subsequently also been Amazon best-sellers. His next release, Awakened, is through Harper Voyager in collaboration with James Murry of Impractical Jokers. 1. First Activation
HARRY and his brother JACK are on an airline flight, headed for a wild weekend-a ritual they have enjoyed every May since leaving the army. The trip takes a terrifying turn when they land in New York to find that JFK airport is almost deserted and that the few ground crew they can spot have all been brutally slaughtered. Is it a terrorist attack? Or something even more menacing? When a security guard appears and offers to help the passengers, but promptly shoots the first person off the plane and then kills himself, Harry realises that there is something very, very wrong in New York City.
2. Second Activation
It began in First Activation, when military veterans Harry and Jack arrived at a silent JFK airport and a New York City full of madmen driven to kill one another.
In Second Activation, the two brothers escape from Monroe, Michigan, and head for New York to face down Genesis Alliance, a despotic organization that is implementing the chaos to create a new order. Caught in a race against time, confronted with a local team intent on revenge and expecting the imminent arrival of a larger reinforcement, Harry and Jack must avoid existing dangers, gain allies, and stop the Alliance from launching its next Activation.
With the fate of the remaining population at stake, Harry and Jack know that stopping the Activation means going to war once again.
