The Incredible Planet. Reading: Pennsylvania: Fantasy Press, 1949; hardcover. Three linked novellas: "The Incredible Planet", "The Interstellar Search", and "The Infinite Atom", originally written as sequels to The Mightiest Machine but rejected by Tremaine for publication in Astounding. A million light-years from Earth, one solitary experimental spaceship floated amidst a vast fleet of strange starships, hurtled into the unmapped void by a revolutionary new concept in space mechanics!

02 The Incredible Planet
The Incredible Planet is John W. Campbell’s sequel to The Mightiest Machine and contains the following:"The Incredible Planet""The Interstellar Search""The Infinite Atom"
The Yards had produced a new spaceship, the Procyon. The news releases were praising it as the latest and greatest. Don was rather cynical about the publicity.
Russ mentioned the inventions of Carlisle on the new spaceship. Don’s new air rectifiers would keep the air supply at optimum for the passengers. He also commented on the magnetic atmosphere furnished by Aarn.
The Procyon was journeying to the Moon during the height of the Leonids. The magnetic atmosphere would vaporize any meteor with a mass less that a ton. Russ only wished that it had been produced while his father was still alive.
Aarn says that new developments depended on prior discoveries. He could not have invented the magnetic atmosphere without certain developments two year ago. He also wanted Russ to ask spaceship captains to capture certain information from the sun.
