Rumpelstiltskin has always been on the outside, looking in. He’s watched Godmother grant wishes to the chosen for years, and her creepy cousins, the Fates, boast of their lock on destiny. Now, with a desperate heart, he must ask the crones for the most important wish of all: to save his dying wife.
But his wife is not a chosen one, and Godmother bristles at the mention of Rump’s name. As expected, the crones maliciously refuse.
On a quest to show that endings are not written in stone, and that wish fulfillment shouldn’t be based on who you are or who you know, Rump entangles three of fairy tale’s finest princesses in new stories of their own. Throwing them into famous historical events ought to make the point.
With the women’s lives now hanging by a gossamer thread, Rump learns that manipulating destiny isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Not when death has the final word.
