Investigative reporter, April Longmont, was a classmate of Barton’s and is stunned and angered by his death. Though there are few clues, she is determined to find his killer. Private Investigator, Clay Augustine, an acquaintance of Barton’s, shares her outrage. He joins her in the hunt and, while searching for a killer, they are increasingly attracted to each other. Barton had no known enemies. He had no dark secrets in his life. At times he worked 60 hours a week to pay his bills. What possibly could be the motive for killing an average and honest man?
The trail takes surprising twists and turns but ultimately leads to corruption in high places. April and Clay know time is running out.
