Feared by an ignorant people and hunted by allies, their paths are drawn inexorably towards a moment that could change the face of the land forever or so histories portend.
To the north from between the mountain ranges reveals Shienhin, seat of the usurper. The ancient castle by right of victory in the Clan Wars holds the throne. Now the throne of an impotent monarch while decrees of tyranny are issued in a forged hand.
To the south lies the Draeld Swamps. Of these lands are whispered the deepest fears of the commoners. To be avoided if at all possible. A putrid region of decay and rot that is a festering blight upon the land.
Beyond the Draeld towers the Elder Forest. Within a silent struggle plays with secrets and foretellings. Each perhaps more dangerous than the twelve fable blades of lore and legend.
To the west a towering wall of stone encompasses a wilderness fiercely protected from humans until a chance encounter by a gray dragon. An uneasy alliance by necessity they must extend.
To the east is the Garoche. A barren wilderness that hides secrets from an age past. Within might be found foe or friend.
On all sides the Silent Sea washes the bleached stony shores of Den’dra. So called because never is heard again of any who venture across the turquoise waters beyond the sight of land. The deep, it is presumed, to which place they descend.
What is and was is set but must what is said to be therefore become what is? If so then by ancient words a future doth impend.
And so it begins or is my tale of two youth, a boy lost even to himself or the girl whose future looms ominously, to by a twist of fate to soon end?
