Overview: Something strange is happening with the mirror I found at an estate sale. I keep looking at it, and my reflection moves without my moving.
I’m modeling a nearly transparent negligee, examining my curvy body, and wondering if I’m still attractive to my husband. We haven’t been very close lately. Too many things have gotten in the way, and we’ve grown apart. Our intimacy has suffered, but he’s always been my protector. I can’t seem to look away from my shimmering reflection.
Is it coming out of the mirror? Oh my god, it IS!
Frozen in place, only my eyes track my doppelganger as it steps from the reflection and into my closet. It’s smiling at me.
“Don’t worry, dear,” the image speaks in my voice, “I’ll show you who you really are.”
I can only helplessly watch the reflection turn and exit my closet, wearing my revealing negligee. I hear it walking downstairs to greet the handsome plumber working in my kitchen.
