Overview: Every page is filled with photographs some of which are in color. It seems generaous to call the A-10 a fighter as most fighters are capable of performing an air-to-air mission. The A-10 is limited to close air support. It does not carry a radar, it does not rely on high spped, and it cannot climb high beyond range of ground-based weapons. It is performanc is more like a B-25 of World War 2. Expecting to take hits the A-10 is designed to survive and fly and be easily repaired. It has a 30mm cannon, a powerful and accurate weapon. An F-14 pilot tells of making a pass on an A-10 and as he flashed by, to his amazement he said I could see him reverse and turn with me that big old gun pointed right at my helmet all the way.
