365 Days With God: A Daily Devotional by Christopher Roberts
Requirements: ePub Reader, 694 kb
Overview: The purpose of this book, ‘365 Days With God’ is to provide Christians with encouragement on their Christian daily journey with God. The book contains small snapshots of study, which will not take up too much of people’s time to read, during each day of the year. Each day’s study is limited to one page of reading per day, and is written in an easy readable style. The book is intended for people who do not have a lot of time available to put to one side to read lots of pages, before getting to the point of the chapter. There is nothing worse than reading ten pages of text, waiting to get to the point, only to finally find that you have learnt little.
This book avoids a lot of unnecessary complexity. It allows you to get to the point on each page pretty quickly, so that you can receive encouragement, before you carry on with the rest of your day. The book is not like some of the daily bible study booklets, which invites people to study a scripture, and then read some text. This book includes scripture within it’s text, as a seamless work, so that people don’t have to read parts of the book, and then read the bible, and then return to the book. Readers can do this, but there is no necessity to follow such a method with this particular book.
This book is not written for people to necessarily read it at the start of January, and finishing it at the end of December of any given year. You can start reading the book at any time of the year, for example, from June of one years, and finishing it in May of the next – the choice is up to you. And, obviously, if someone wants to read the book from the start of January, until the end of December, that’s fine too. The book is also designed for readers to pick it up and put it down when they want to. They do not need to read it in a full year, they may want to take longer. Each study is independent of each other, yet maintaining the theme of helping the reader grow, and develop in their walk with God each day.
Finally, the book is not about legalism. It’s about exercising the reader’s thinking abilities, so that they can work things out for themselves. And above all, it is designed to make people think about their journey with God. It’s really about you the reader, and it should challenge you to consider the options, which are available to you throughout your life’s journey with God.
