The Trouble with Love: When history teacher Tony Wilkes decides to put himself out there and try to meet new people, he finds himself in a small guitar class. There, he sees Samuel Taylor for the first time. Samuel, it turns out, is about to be Tony’s new boss, but Tony is positive the guy is a complete waste of time.
Odd-looking, awkward, and antisocial, Samuel seems to struggle with just about everything. He can’t strum a guitar or handle a drink with friends. So when he shows up as the new vice principal at Tony’s school, Tony is already against him. After all, another person was supposed to get the job and was passed over so Samuel could have it. Why should anyone be on this guy’s side?
However, Samuel has some hidden talents. For starters, he is amazing at talking to the kids who spend their days torturing their classmates or getting into fights. Tony gets the chance to observe his new boss with a group of them and feels a slight stir in his heart. Was he wrong about this guy? And why is he suddenly so attracted to him?
Just as Tony is struggling with his own emotions, an angry parent learns Samuel is gay and panics, claiming a homosexual administrator is a danger to the school. Suddenly, everything is covered in scandal and Tony wants nothing more than to help the public see Samuel the same way he does—as a caring and intelligent adult. He also wants Samuel to see that he has feelings for him, but the rumor mill and the craziness of angry parents prove to be a huge hindrance.
All Tony wants is to reach out and find something truly new—the love of his life. Is it Samuel? Tony desperately hopes that it is this strange but amazing man who has suddenly come into his life.
The Mercenary: Cameron is the most normal person ever. At least that’s what people think when they first see him. Sure, he’s tall and attractive, and he has an air of nerdy hipster that makes him extra cute to a certain type of gay guy. What most people don’t know about him, though, is that he works for the government in a highly classified position. Ever since he was a young man and he decided to hack the state government’s office, Cameron’s life has always been thoroughly planned for him. That means that he can only date people who are okay with being kept at arm’s length. His last boyfriend wasn’t okay with that, and while Cameron thought that he had found the one, it only became very clear that wasn’t the case when it was far too late. That landed Cameron in the situation he is now: in the middle of nowhere, working for a branch of the government so secretive that most people have never heard of it. For the first time in Cameron’s life, he might truly be putting his life in danger.
Logan Kane, on the other hand, is used to putting his life on the line. He was always the kind of person who had plans, big plans, for his own life. But his high school girlfriend got pregnant and then he couldn’t even join the military. That put Logan in a difficult position until someone approached him and told him that they could make it so that he had the same salary and better benefits than the military ever did.
That was when Logan Kane decided to become a mercenary. He didn’t know that was what he was becoming, but now he’s a professional contractor and the government has tasked him to go to a place called The Farm. That’s where he meets Cameron Yates, the down-to-earth but distrustful tactical agent who seems to want to take their relationship farther. Logan is bisexual, single, and very into him. Soon, Logan must choose whether to do his job or be with the guy who he has grown to care so much about, while Cameron must decide who owns him, really: the government or his own heart.
Harvest of Love: Phil Sparks doesn’t think that he’s ever going to find anyone to be with after the tragic accident that took both of his parents’ life. His parents’ lifelong work and pride and joy was the Sparks’ farm and an unprepared Phil inherited it, knowing that he would have to make it work if he wanted to keep his parents’ legacy alive.
But that meant sacrificing almost everything, including the possibility of having a relationship with a man who he might fall in love with. Living in the middle of nowhere, being a small business owner, and being chronically single has meant that good-looking Phil hasn’t managed to find anyone steady, though hook-ups are never a problem.
That is until he meets Isaac Foster Weaver, an adorable guy who wants to buy some watermelons at the farmers’ market. But Foster needs a job more than he needs a boyfriend and Phil needs all the help he can get, so he decides that hiring him is a better idea.
Foster’s overprotective mother doesn’t think that he should be spending the summer alone in his college town and is pressuring him to go on a cruise with her and his stepdad. In a bid for independence, Foster says that he will find a job if that means he won’t have to go on a cruise with her.
After he gets a job at the Sparks’ farm, he realizes that he’s quickly falling in love with his boss, but he doesn’t want to disrupt the fragile ecosystem of their employee/employer relationship, especially when Phil makes it very clear that they are never going to sleep together.
No matter how much either one of them wants to. And they both really, really want to.
That suits Foster nicely, due to the secret that he’s keeping close to his chest. But he’s not sure if he’s going to be able to keep his hands off his boss, and he isn’t sure if his boss will be able to keep his word either.
