01 Eadric And The Wolves
Eadric of Mercia becomes one of the most charismatic and powerful men in England, sharing a life with a Danish beauty while married to an English princess. However, haunted by the public murders of people close to him, he will be forced to choose between his eminent status and loyalty to his own Anglo-Saxon people, and his desire for justice–and revenge.
The infamous St. Brice’s Day massacre in 1002 A.D. becomes a provocation for increased attacks on England and two invasions, but it is also a catalyst for decisions that Eadric will make years later. His revulsion at the genocidal impulses of the most powerful people in the land will lead him to what English historians have called the greatest betrayal of the eleventh century.
Seen as a villain by many during his lifetime and after, he is surrounded by people who casually employ treachery, and institutions that consistently act in bad faith. In this thoroughly researched novel, David Mullaly tells a story that challenges the traditional narrative about Eadric.
Appearances can be profoundly deceiving. Loyalty in the defense of evil is no virtue, and what may look like betrayal could be the only good option for a brave leader.

02 The Viking Woman of Birka
Asa was a young woman who avenged a personal assault, was forced to become a warrior and leader during her family’s travels, and ultimately became responsible for defending Birka, one of the great Viking trade centers. This actual Norse woman made her mark during a violent time.
This story is a riveting but plausible reconstruction of her life during a turbulent time in European and human history. David Mullaly provides a realistic context based on our limited knowledge of the period, and creates a sequence of events which could have led to her becoming the extraordinary women that she surely came to be.

03 Viking Warlord
The historical Viking generally known as Thorkell the Tall was one of the most important figures involved in Viking raids and invasions of England during the period 990-1016 A.D. David Mullaly provides a narrative that offers a plausible story of Thorkell’s growth from the son of a murdered jarl in the Danish holding of Skane into a brilliant leader of warriors who defies a king, and then becomes a king-maker. Blood feuds were a familiar thing for the Vikings, and Thorkell’s desire for vengeance is almost as strong as his love of personal honor. Although this novel is based on the historical record, like the popular musical Hamilton, it is a unique blend of history and imagination.
