Overview: Jeffrey Miska has worked in the financial industry for most of his life and loves to write books and short stories in his spare time. When not glued to a computer screen, he enjoys writing music and spending time outdoors. Although educated in finance and science, Jeff spent many years learning about local U.S. and world history as well as native american culture. He frequently shared this cultural knowledge locally by giving presentations at local grammar schools in the Chicago area. Decisions in Darkness: The story begins with the chance encounter of Larry and Ginny. Their friendly casual greeting in a local restaurant conceals a hidden and deeply intimate past. The vision of one another along with a brief embrace stirs memories of an amazing yet unfinished chapter of their lives. Although both married with children, their current existence is entirely the result of some very desperate choices made long ago during a dark and frightening time. Now it seems the improbability of this universe has offered them a once in a life time gift to bring closure to their shared pain of lost love. Still, as with any of life’s gifts, those who are offered it have a choice. The choice to either accept it, or not.
Insane Possibilities: A short story about a vivacious young physicist and mathematician named Kristine, who has devoted her life to science. Her newly found love for meditation and yoga bring hallucinations that frighten her enough to seek the help of a social worker named Paul Ghent. She fears the worst when she is handed a possible diagnosis of schizophrenia, but the diagnosis as with all things in life, is uncertain. Kristine’s scientific mind drives her personal need to find a definite answer that ends in what seems to be the impossible. Taking her therapist on her journey into what could only be her delusion, they both find out the truth about her. It’s the lesson that perspective is all that’s real, and sanity is nothing more than the limit of what we believe.
