Overview: Frederik George Pohl, Jr. was an American science fiction writer, editor and fan, with a career spanning over seventy years. From about 1959 until 1969, Pohl edited Galaxy magazine and its sister magazine IF winning the Hugo for IF three years in a row. His writing also won him three Hugos and multiple Nebula Awards. He became a Nebula Grand Master in 1993.

The Tunnel Under the World
Guy Burckhardt is having some strange experiences. First of all his recurring nightmare of an explosion wakes him up every morning. Then there are the ads about strange products he’s never heard of, the pushy salesmen, and that annoying loudspeaker practically forcing him to buy a Feckle Freezer! Oh, and the little thing about re-living June 15th over and over again. But as he learns more about what is really happening he is pursued by some scary people who are determined not to let him shake up the staus quo. The problem is he really couldn’t… even if he wanted to! This short story originally appeared in the January 1955 issue of Galaxy Science Fiction.

They need guys like Arthur to help run the city, and the fact that he fits in a small suitcase is even better. The Knights of Arthur was first published in the January 1958 issue of the pulp magazine Galaxy Science Fiction.
