Late 1941 – Allied shipping is easy prey. Focke-Wulf Condors roam at will across the Atlantic, sinking ships and shadowing convoys for the Wolfpacks. There are no aircraft carriers to spare. Drastic times call for drastic measures. Put an 80ft long rocket catapult on the front of a civilian transport ship and stick a Hawker Hurricane on a launch cradle.
It takes a certain kind of pilot to sign up for a one way trip. Once they’ve dealt with the Condor. they can either ditch, or bail out and hope that someone picks them up before they freeze to death in the middle of the Atlantic.
Strike From The Sea
It has been a long war for Tim Chavell. A veteran of operations in France, Malta, the Adriatic, and off the Dutch coast, he is long overdue for a rest. Instead, he finds himself posted to Scotland to take command of a Mosquito strike wing at RAF Aberdour.
In headlong retreat, the Germans are being pressured from all sides. The iron ore that keeps heavy industry going comes from a precarious supply line that must be protected at all costs. Marshalling its strength, the Nazi war machine is rushing to create a last bastion to carry on the conflict, and the strike wings must stop them.
