Making Memories
Chad Sutherland receives a call from the State Highway Patrol that his partner, Jim Manning, has been involved in an automobile accident and taken by ambulance to the hospital. Chad is shocked at his first sight of Jim – his head in a full bandage and deep gashes on his right cheek and forehead. Dark bruises surround his eyes and the left side of his throat where the seat-belt obviously cut into it. It scares Chad to death that he could very well lose the love of his life and the thought of it sends shivers down his spine. Their attraction to one another had been instantaneous and in their ten years together they had built a good life. Jim looked so bad and Chad could only hope he wasn’t suffering – that the doctors would do everything possible to see him through this.
Arriving home, Chad plops into his favorite chair, closes his eyes, and begins thinking back on how it all began and about all the wonderful memories they had made and shared together.
