A Forever Love – It had been a year since I’d come back to the one place I’d run from so long ago, and I’d managed to fly under the radar the whole time.
It was just Noah and me. He was perfect. I’d brought him back so I could raise him where I’d grown up, a place I was familiar with. I’d also hoped to fix my very broken relationship with my parents. They cut me off the day they found out that I was pregnant, and things hadn’t been the same between us since. That was definitely going to take some time, there was no doubt in my mind.
When Noah asked me to go the Valentine’s Day Dance at his school with him, I knew I had to go. He’d been through more than his share of sadness, and he was only six.
As I stood there, all dressed up and eyeing myself in the mirror, looking nothing like the real me, I reminded myself of just how happy it was going to make him. I was about to face the gossiping moms, the same ones I’d worked so hard to avoid since the day school had started, but I was doing it for him. He was totally worth it.
As I reached out to open the door that would take us into the school I’d gone to as a little girl, I knew things were going to change, I just didn’t know how big those changes would be.
Before an hour had gone by, I’d been knocked flat on my rear, called all of the gossiping moms right to me, and been faced with the one person that had torn my world apart.
So much for flying under the radar.

Unbreakable Bond – The emotional conclusion to the Reid, Smith, and Parker families.
I was a mom, a grandma, and a great-grandma to the most amazing people in the world. Of course I was biased. They were mine, and I loved every single one of them.
I’d started out with one daughter, and it broke my heart the day I watched her walk away from the one man I knew she was meant to be with. She went on to have a beautiful little boy with a complete loser, and just when I began to think she would never find the happiness she truly deserved, she found it, in the very same man she’d left all those years before. I knew they belonged together.
From there my family began to grow. Her mouthy best friend fell for a bossy ballplayer, and they both became mine. Then kids began to come, and before I knew it, they were finding a love of their own, some of them in places I never expected, like really never saw it coming, but I wouldn’t tell them that. Those kids went on to have kids of their own, and there I was, a great-grandmother to fourteen wonderful children.
If they would have told me, as I looked down at my baby girl for the first time, that she would go on to bring so many amazing people into my life, I wouldn’t have believed them, but she had, and I was greatful for every single, crazy one of them.
They were mine.
They were strong.
They were unbreakable.
At least I hoped they were.
